A Brief Overview Of Dog Breeds

Dog is a lovely pet and most of the dog owners are extremely cautious for the selection of the dog breed. The dog breeds are the ancestral lines of the dogs. Some dog breeds are natural while selective dog breeding is also carried out for getting the excellent dog breeds. For many years, the selective breeding of dog has been carried out to get the desired dog breeds. In the selective breeding the same ancestral lines can be bred and sometimes different ancestral lines are bred. When a dog breed is healthy and perfect then breeding is usually done from the same ancestors.

For enhancing the features of a specific breed, different combination of dog breeds are bred. Therefore, dog breeds originate because of the selective dog breeding. In the recent years, you can find huge variations in different dog breeds like the characteristics of Chihuahua are totally different from characteristics of Great Dane.

All dog breeds are recorded in three categories which include registered dog breeds, rare dog breeds and new dog breeds. On the functional basis there are seven categories of the dog breeds including; Companion dogs, Guard dogs, Hunting dogs, Pastoral dogs, Sled dogs, Extinct dogs, Hypoallergenic breeds and Police dog breeds.

The first type of dog breed is the Companion dog breed, which include the dogs that are commonly kept as pets at homes. Most of the people keep them as hobby or for pleasure and these dogs are friendly by nature.

A guard dog is a dog breed which is used by the people to guard against the unwanted people. This dog breed has the feature that they bark to make the owner alert and active. These dogs are trained to attack the suspicious people. Third category of the dog breed is the hunting dog which helps the individuals in hunting. There are three categories of dog breed including hounds, terriers and gun dogs. For livestock the special dog breeds are there which include pastoral dog breed. One very useful type of dog breeds is the Sled dog breed which is used for pulling the wheel less pastoral dog breed. The dog species which do not longer exist are known as extinct dog breeds. People love to keep dogs because dog is a faithful animal but because of the allergic issues they usually avoid keeping dogs, however, the hypoallergenic dog breeds are for such people. The dog breed which is used for the investigative and detective purposes by the police forces is known as Police dog breed.

Therefore, we can say that dog breeds are really useful for us in various ways and to enhance the quality of the dog breeds, proper breeding and training are essential.
